Like I say…a little lift never hurt anyone. If anything it can make ya feel better, relieve any stress you may have had prior to the lift. Lifts are a good idea…even in the bathroom. Especially a girls bathroom….that is super small!! Did I mention this is a girls bathroom? Geez girls can be sooo messy!!
On a good day…this is all I have to look at!!! A mirror splattered in spray from washing hands and brushing teeth…yuck, a spotted counter and faucet from dirty hands (camera luckily doesn’t pick up all that mess).
I can tolerate the splattered mess (somewhat, I am a girl too soooo whatcha expect) at least I know they are attempting to practice good hygiene. But I struggle with overlooking the crowded space on the vanity top. I constantly hear things falling over in the sink from being bumped with the faucet handles. Having to always check the trash before emptying just to make sure nothing was knocked in from being bumped out of the way.
So why not lift it ↑↑↑ out of the way. There is plenty of space above the faucet and knobs. Now I know they make those shelve units to go over the faucet to help with space….. but no matter what I found I never liked these. They give me almost as much anxiety as the bathroom’s current state.
But I have noticed all the trays you can make yourself with plates and candlesticks…ya know almost like a cupcake tree stand or cake stand. And I have really liked these ideas, especially since your options are endless. Then I found the ones that used picture frames in lieu of the plates/saucers. EVEN BETTER….A PICTURE WILL WORK OUT SOOOO MUCH BETTER FOR THE THIS SMALL TOP!!!
Since I didn’t have anymore candlesticks hiding in my craft closet and no frames small enough to fit in the corner….a trip to the Dollar Tree is in my future!! Very near future!!
YAY!!! Love this….only took me about 10 minutes….looking around in the small picture frame collection I was able to grab up this great piece!!! My girls bathroom is white with a ton of bright colors that they love, so I was super excited when I already found a neon pink frame!! What makes it even better is that it is a raised frame, almost a shadow box style frame. So will give me a better lip to make sure things stay in place.
But first, I am need to paint my candlestick using spray paint we happen to have in the garage. Glad the girls like bright colors!!! Looks for fun to me!! Funky!! While this dries I can “prep” my frame.
Another good thing with this frame that I liked, there is no glass that I will need to store away (cause ya know I hoard stuff like that) and removing the wire is super easy. Luckily, this wire is only attached with tape on the back. So I only removed the tape and slid the wire out. Tada….the starts of a tray. After the candlestick has dried enough for me to handle, I whipped out my hot glue gun! Squeezed out a good layer of glue on the top of the candlestick, eyeballed about center of the frame and stuck it to it!!!
Taadaa!!! Instant lift!!! And I obviously had to clean up that bathroom! Wasn’t about to put this bit of cuteness in that nasty bathroom…hehe!! It’s great how something so simple can help so much.
