Christmas Ornament Display | DIY Pallet Project

Written by: Renee Reiter

Oh Home Depot….I am not sure if I am mad or glad now that this project is over. I remember the day clearly…I was innocently scrolling Instagram and saw a post from Home Depot with this gorgeous picture below and a caption encouraging me to sign up for a class to learn how to make one. I immediately texted a friend who I know loves Christmas and made plans to attend the DIY class.  Continue reading Christmas Ornament Display | DIY Pallet Project

DIY Cookies for Santa Plate

Written by: Renee Reiter

If you are celebrating Christmas, chances are you have started putting on that extra pot of coffee to help get through the endless to-do’s, because the week is finally here! At this point I am basically crawling out of my skin with excitement for the big day to arrive… Watching presents be opened, playing games and eating amazing food all while spending time with family is pretty much the best!

Although I don’t have any children in my home there has always been something nostalgic to me about leaving cookies for Santa. Seeing cookies be put out and then gone in the morning with only some crumbs remaining was a major part in my “believing” in the magic of Santa; and it’s something I hold dear to my heart. Let’s dress it up for the holidays

Written by Jessica Chaffins

Who loves this time of year?  Come on….nevermind the endless crowds, traffic and constant commercialized part of the holidays….think of all the wonderful things that happen this time of year.  All the wonderful colors that people love to spray all over there homes and lawns like sparkly skittles.  Everyone running around singing Christmas Carols (especially my extremely off key kids).  All the laughs with friends and family, even if it takes a glass of wine or two (or even spiked eggnog….won’t point any fingers there MOM!!).  The different wonderful aromas, the nutmeg, hot cocoa, freshly baked cookies and can not forget the fresh cut christmas trees.  If anyone else is like me, this is just a small part of what I love about it…even more so than that…I go on some crazy binges to just create.  Whether it is gifts or baked goodies, I just have this insane drive to do and make for people.  Can’t seem to get enough of it.   Continue reading Let’s dress it up for the holidays

It’s all about how ya felt

Written by Jessica Chaffins

So like many people lately, I have been out quite a good bit doing some Christmas shopping.  Also like most people, I’m always looking for some good ole bargins. But I also hunt down inspiration for little do-dads that may come in handy for me later (well for now, who am I kidding).  Good thing for us, is our family likes to keep things pretty simple and low key even for our girls.  I love getting small little trinkets and what-nots.  Which most of the gifts are usually two small or simple to put into a gift bag or even wrap in a box.  Sometimes I will use gift card tins that I can find sometimes but those seem to be harder to find than I like.  Anyway, while I was in Target I found a small envelope made of felt in the dollar bins (my favorite section)….my first thought….pssshh, I can make these!!  So here I am, making my envelopes!!! TGIF!! This has been one heck of a week and a good day to post something quick and simple but really useful. I sometimes struggle to fall asleep especially when out of town so I love taking this with me when I travel. Lavender is often used for sleep products since it is known to help with anxiety and stress which in turn can help you go to sleep easier.
