Did I mention I love the fall?!?! Well I kept seeing all these pins on Pinterest for all kinds of pumpkins made from lumber….sooo again I raided my husband’s scrap pile and found some good pieces to make me some of my own pumpkins. These are just on a smaller scale (largest one is a 5 x 5 piece of wood) for me to have inside on a table top.
It is extremely easy and quick to do. When I say quick, I mean less than 2 hours and “BOOM” done! Anyway, I didn’t sand them down at all, wanted to keep the texture, but I did wipe them down to get dirt and cat hair (gah all the cat hair) off of it. Once they dried off a bit, I brushed them with a thin coat of orange acrylic paint. While I was doing all this my oldest daughter was out looking for me some good sticks for me to use as stems. Have to say she did a good job but wasn’t happy with me because I cut the “prettiest” stick up. Oh well, once i had the “stems” figured out, I asked my husband to drill holes proportionate to diameter of the “stems”. After that I just dropped a dab of wood glue in the holes and inserted my stems!! Luckily I had some leftover green ribbon from a project years ago that was perfect for me to just tie around the “stems” to make my “leaves”. I love ’em….but then again, I love fall!!!
